BEIJING, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- The import and export value of the Chinese electronics and information technology industry reached 954.6 billion U.S. dollars in the first 10 months, up 3.3 percent from the same period last year, official data revealed on Thursday.
Among the total, export of electronic goods grew 3.9 percent year on year to 559.7 billion dollars, which was 0.5 percentage points higher than that of the first three quarters, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Meanwhile, import of electronic products grew 2.5 percent to 394.9 billion dollars, said the ministry.
In the first 10 months, the export volume of telecommunication equipment export saw a fast growth of 12.9 percent year on year to 115.8 billion dollars while that of computers grew 1.9 percent to 191.5 billion dollars, the MIIT data showed.
In the same period, however, exports of home appliances experienced a drop of 7.9 percent to 71.6 billion dollars. Though exports of electronic devices grew 11.6 percent to 69.6 billion dollars, those of electronic materials saw a rapid decline of 20.8 percent to 4.4 billion dollars.
