The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) started developing China's own long-range passenger aircraft to break off from the long-term monopoly of Boeing and Airbus. The project has filled the absence of China's own long-range passenger aircraft in civil aviation. The C919, a jumbo jet, has received some 400 orders.
