Five warships of the East China Sea Fleet under the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) sailed through the Miyako Strait into the western Pacific and carried out blue water training on November 28, 2012. Geng Yansheng, director of the Information Office under the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and spokesman of the MND, announced at the regular press conference of the MND held on the afternoon of November 29, 2012 that the blue water training this time of the PLA Navy is conducted as planned, and the training like that will continue in the future.
Following the blue water training in the western Pacific conducted by seven warships of the North China Sea Fleet under the Navy of the PLA in last month, five warships of the East China Sea Fleet under the Navy of the PLA sailed into the same waters and carried out another round of blue water training on November 28, 2012.
Geng Yansheng expressed that the blue water training is conducted as planned, and the training like that will continue in the future as such training is conformable to related international laws and international practice. He also said that the details of the blue water training could not be disclosed.
