ST. PETERSBURG, July 9 (Xinhua) -- A fire engulfed a porcelain factory in the city of St. Petersburg Tuesday, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said.
The fire, which occurred at 9:30 a.m. local time in the paints and varnishes section of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, spread to cover an area of 50 square meters, the ministry said.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze after localizing the source of the fire. No casualties have been reported.
The Imperial Porcelain Factory was established in 1744.
