'Coffee Capital of China': Superior Quality

Pu'er runs through the Tropic of Cancer and enjoys a favorable climate and a sound environment, which makes it one of the ideal areas in the world for growing coffee trees. In terms of coffee planting, Pu'er already has a history of more than 100 years, during which coffee has gained a position in Pu'er no second to Pu'er tea.

Like red wine in the Bordeaux region of France, Pu'er coffee has not only "settled" in coffee plantations but also stepped in the new stage of scientific and branding development. It has been acclaimed for its superior quality and savory taste by the International Coffee Organization as the "coffee of the best quality" and of the same category as Colombian coffee, and favored by more and more Chinese and international consumers.

Jeremy Wakeford, Chief Coffee Quality Appreciation Expert from Starbucks with 45 years' experience in coffee quality appreciation, gave a score as high as 81.5 for "Pu'er coffee" and said it is a kind of classic coffee that can be compared with Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.

On January 7, 2013, Pu'er City was granted the honorary title of "Coffee Capital of China" by the China Fruit Marketing Association, making Pu'er the "Coffee Capital of China" worthy of its name.
