Mawangdui Han Tombs, Hunan
The Han Tombs at Mawangdui were made famous by the discovery of an ancient corpse which lay perfectly preserved under the ground for 2000 years. The scientific techniques used to preserve the corpse, as well other intricately-produced artifacts found at the site, continue to astound historians. Now the tomb is the site of a popular tourist attraction and (partly thanks to the fact thieves never found the treasures within) there are plenty of relics and artifacts on display.
