BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Two men were detained at the weekend for making bomb threats over the telephone, Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has said.
A man called police and threatened to blow up an airport at 9:50 p.m. Saturday. He was detained at home at 11 p.m. No explosives were found at his home.
The 39-year-old suspect, a Beijing local surnamed Wang holding a grudge over a land dispute, confessed to making the false call after drinking, according to "Peaceful Beijing," the official microblog of the city police on Twitter-like Sina Weibo.
Another man dialed 110 at 10:48 p.m. Saturday, saying he was on his way to explode a video game entertainment venue at Guangqumen, Chaoyang District. He was seized at midnight, with no explosives found on him.
The 31-year-old suspect, surnamed Liu from east China's Jiangsu Province, was upset after spending too much money at the venue and made the threatening call to let off steam.
