Students from 8 countries gathered here on Monday for the "Russia-Far East" International summer school at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU).
Over 70 participants from Germany, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Indonesia, Slovakia, Switzerland and Morocco joined the summer camp that offers two educational programs.
The three-week course of "Russian language and culture" involves intensive language instruction and deep immersion into Russian culture and traditions.
Another program focuses on internal and external policies of Russia and North-Eastern Asia.
In addition to the academic curriculum, the international students will take part in a number of cultural and recreational activities that include sightseeing tours and public events.
The "Russia-Far East" summer camp, the second of its kind, runs through to Aug. 29.
The first summer school took place at the FEFU last year with 40 students from Germany, South Korea, China's Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland and Chile.
