Police in Beijing caught some 237 foreigners since May in a campaign to crack down on prostitution, gambling and drugs, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Monday.

Twenty-five of the 237 suspects have been officially detained and the rest of them were either fined over inappropriate behavior or received warnings from the police.

The Beijing police have caught more than 1,100 drug addicts and confiscated some 13 kilograms of drugs during the campaign.

More than 3,000 people, both Chinese and foreign, were caught and later detained for participating in illicit activities during the campaign.
