GULF OF ADEN, July 22 (ChinaMil) -- The "Peace Ark" hospital ship of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN) which was offering medical services to escort officers and men of various countries in the Gulf of Aden welcomed a visiting and exchange group from the guided missile destroyer "Wang Geon" of the Navy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) on the afternoon of July 18, 2013, local time.
Commander Kim Yong Lee, chief of staff of the ROK naval escort taskforce, and his party totaling five members successfully landed on the flight deck of the "Peace Ark" hospital ship after a nearly-half-an-hour flight on the Lynx helicopter. This is the first time for the "Peace Ark" hospital ship to welcome foreign military aircraft.
After their visit to the hospital ship, Kim Yong Lee and his party also had an in-depth exchange of views on such issues as the mode of offering medical services by the hospital ship in the waters of the Gulf of Aden. Kim Yong Lee expressed that the PLAN has made important contributions to world peace and tranquility, and the "Harmonious Mission 2013" is a pragmatic measure the PLAN has taken to maintain peace and care for life.
