15th Chinese peacekeeping force to Liberia sets out

BEIJING, July 18 (ChinaMil) -- The 15th Chinese peacekeeping force to Liberia set up by the Beijing Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) took a flight of the China Southern Airlines at the Beijing Capital International Airport on the evening of July 17, 2013 to the Liberia mission area to take over the 14th Chinese peacekeeping force which went to Liberia in November 2012 to perform missions.

Since 2003, China has successively dispatched thousands of peacekeepers to Liberia to take part in the United Nations peacekeeping operations, making unremitting efforts to speed up local peace process and economic and social reconstruction.

It is learnt that so far, China has dispatched 14 batches of peacekeeping forces to Liberia, the first three organized by the PLA Shenyang MAC and the rest by the PLA Beijing MAC.
