BEIJING, July 17 (ChinaMil) -- Admiral Wu Shengli, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and commander of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN), met with Rear Admiral Ng Chee Peng, the visiting chief of the Navy of the Republic of Singapore, in Beijing on July 16, 2013.
Wu Shengli expressed that the navies of China and Singapore have been maintaining good friendly and cooperative relations in recent years. The PLAN is willing to make joint efforts with the Singaporean Navy to maintain the momentum of high-level reciprocal visits, strengthen the mechanism for reciprocal visits of warships and enhance escort cooperation and exchanges in professional fields, so as to further enhance mutual trust, develop friendship and make positive contributions to the regional peace and stability.
Ng Chee Peng was grateful to the PLAN for its warm reception and thoughtful arrangements, and he hoped to take this visit as an opportunity to continue to maintain exchanges and cooperation and deepen mutual understanding, so as to promote constant development of the bilateral relations.
