BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) must fight corruption and treat it as a major political task, according to a report by the Party's discipline watchdog.
The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) published Monday the full text of its report submitted to the 18th CPC National Congress, which concluded last week.
The document uses several "musts" while summarizing the Party's anti-corruption experience over the past five years.
The Party must "practice self-discipline and be strict with its members," and maintain high-intensity pressure in tackling corruption, the report said.
Everyone is equal before Party disciplines and the law, and whoever violates them shall be punished, regardless of his or her position, the report said.
Officials at all levels should boost their political awareness of and better fulfill their duties of exercising self-discipline and being strict with Party members, it added.
The Party must put people first and guard their interests, targeting the pressing problems that are deeply complained about by the masses, the report said.
The Party must investigate discipline and law violations and at the same time strengthen corruption-preventive measures, aiming to sharpen the overall corruption-punishment and prevention system, the document said.
It pointed out that the CPC must improve the supervision system to prevent power abuse.
