BEIJING, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- China's homegrown bus maker Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co. will recall 430 buses to fix problems that could pose safety risks, the country's top quality watchdog announced on Wednesday.
The recall, starting from Wednesday, affects 430 buses produced between May 25, 2010 and Nov. 7, 2012, according to a statement on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
Yutong found faulty drive axles may make the affected vehicles overturn in worst-case scenarios, the statement said.
The bus maker promised to check all affected vehicles and replace defective parts free of charge. The company will notify customers of the recall via phone.
Owners can also contact AQSIQ's defective product control center hotlines (8610-59799619 and 8610-65537365) for more information.
Yutong sold 39,018 buses in the first 10 months of 2012, up 11.97 percent year on year, according to its statement filed to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
