According to Guo, CATTI achieved three breakthroughs in 2012: registrations were near 50,000, the test system was improved and the CATTI got broader influence.

In June 2012, CIPG held seminars and surveys to promote the effective integration between test of translation and interpreting and the education of master of translation and interpreting (MTI) in universities of southwest, northwest, northeast and north China.

Near 800,000 weibo users have followed CATTI’s official account since the debut in April, 2012.

The CATTI was recognized as one of significant achievements of China’s translation cause over the past three decades in the 30th anniversary of Translators Association of China last month.

The reception was presided over by Huang Youyi, Vice President of CIPG, member of the Board of CATTI and chairman of English experts committee. More than 150 officials and experts from Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, CIPG and Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs attended the reception.
