The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China has recently held the eighth Lanting Forum themed "Chinese diplomacy under new situation." People's Daily picked the contents about China's foreign policy, national interests, relations with its neighbors, regional security, relations with the United States and Japan, the situation on the Korean Peninsula and Syrian issue, and interviewed some experts at home and abroad and summed up their points of view to help readers understand the trend of China's foreign policy after the 18th CPC National Congress and when marching into 2013.

Do not make changes

The major foreign policies will not be changed

The 18th CPC National Congress reiterated that China will continue to firmly pursue the independent and peaceful foreign policy and win-win strategy of opening up. The fundamental foreign policies of China effectively safeguard the national sovereignty, security and development, and promote the world's peace, stability and development; they are in line with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the universally recognized basic norms of international relations, withstand the test of international vicissitudes, get endorsement and support of Chinese people and win respect and friendship of international community.

Win-win cooperation

Obtain self-development and also allow others to develop

China insists on carrying forward the spirit of equality, inclusiveness, mutual trust, mutual learning and win-win cooperation, and encourages the awareness of common destiny. It takes into account the legitimate concerns of other countries in the pursuit of its own interests, and promotes the common development of other countries when seeking self-development. It establishes new global partnership for development, assumes due responsibility and strives for the common interests of mankind. It develops itself and also allows other countries to develop, and make both itself and others feel safe.
