The 1970 Bhola Cyclone is the deadliest tropical cyclone ever recorded in human history. It hit East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and India's West Bengal on November 12, 1970. On November 12, the storm reached its climax with winds of 185 km/h (115 mph). The massive storm took 300,000 to 500,000 lives.
