China formally establishes first national parks (3)

China announced Tuesday its first batch of five national parks at the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
The 1.46-million-hectare Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park sees the population of wild animals, especially endangered Siberian tigers and Amur leopards, are on the rise.
