BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) held a chairpersons' meeting Wednesday to hear reports on the deliberations of draft laws, law revisions and resolutions.
Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the meeting.
Li Fei, chairman of the NPC Constitution and Law Committee, reported on the deliberations of the draft civil code, a draft revision to the securities law, the draft law on the promotion of basic medical and health care, a draft revision to the forest law and the draft community correction law.
Li Fei also reported on the review results of a draft amendment to the law on the protection of investments by compatriots from Taiwan, a draft resolution to abolish the "custody and education" system and a draft decision on starting a pilot program to streamline civil proceedings in some regions of the country.
Yang Zhenwu, secretary-general of the NPC Standing Committee, reported on the deliberations of a draft decision on the third annual session of the 13th NPC and some personnel-related bills.
The meeting decided to submit the above bills and drafts to the ongoing bimonthly session of the NPC Standing Committee for review.
