BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, started its bimonthly session on Monday to review multiple draft laws and revisions, including the draft civil code and a draft revision to the securities law.
Other legislative documents include the draft law on promotion of basic medical and health care, a draft revision to the forest law, the draft law on community correction and a draft revision to the law on prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid waste.
The legislature is also reviewing the draft law on Yangtze River conservation, a draft revision to the law on the protection of investments by compatriots from Taiwan, the draft law on export control, the draft law on urban maintenance and construction tax and the draft law on deed tax.
Also on the table are a draft decision on the third annual session of the 13th NPC and a draft decision on a pilot program to streamline civil proceedings in some regions of the country.
The session will run from Dec. 23 to 28.
During the session, the lawmakers are also expected to consider a report on tax cuts and fee reduction work and a report on the enforcement of the renewable energy law, among others.
