ZTE terminal production base was officially put into operation in Xi'an on February 9, which marks that a complete industrial chain of smartphones has been formed in Xi'an High-tech Zone. It also marks the intelligent terminal industry has gradually become the leading driver to the development of Xi'an High-tech Zone.

In the field of intelligent terminal industry, Xi'an Hi-tech Zone has attracted Samsung, ZTE, Huawei, Coolpad and other leading enterprises to settle down in Xi'an High-tech Zone. They have set up R&D bases and branches, which played an important leading role in Xi'an smartphone industry chain. Samsung memory chips project was already in production in May 2014. The packaging and testing project is also under construction. They will greatly promote the development of the related industries clusters and provide a strong impetus for the smartphone industry chain in Xi'an.

In the field of R&D in the smartphone, Huawei's R&D personnel in Xi'an has exceeded 10,000, of which more than one thousand staff and over a thousand outsourcing staff work in R&D of mobile phone, which result in the shipments of tens of millions of newly developed mobile phones. The number of corresponding handset shipments developed by R&D centers of Yulong Coolpad, TCL, Wingtech, Longcheer Holdings, Hixih Group, Ragentek in Xi'an reached over one hundred million. In the aspect of cell phone chip design, Qualcomm, Intel and other companies also have significant R&D layout in Xi'an High-tech Zone.

In the field of smartphone manufacturing and supporting industry, Yulong Coolpad planned to build its second production base in Xi'an High-tech Zone, which has attracted a part of its core supporting companies to jointly invest in Xi'an. Those projects, in addition with the ZTE intelligent terminal production project, have made the smartphone industry in Xi'an High-tech Zone keep growing. They will also play a leading role in forming the mobile phone industry in the zone.

In the field of intelligent terminal industry, Xi'an Hi-tech Zone plans to build the smartphone industry chain through rapid development of 3 to 5 year. It also makes efforts to build of high-end smartphone industrial concentration zone, cutting-edge technology zone and integrated manufacturing R&D zone. Xi'an High-tech Zone has thus become one of the world's most important concentrations of smartphone industry, which has become an industrial cluster of hundreds of billions yuan in the short term.
