A storm was coming. Zhou Yuehua would go to see her patient - 93-year-old Xi Guozheng who lived in the mountains. After half an hour's journey on motorcycle, the road was cut at midway. Like always, Ai Qi, Zhou's husband, carried her on his back and walked to the patient's house. He had to take a break from time to time.

Zhou Yuehua is a doctor who lives in a village in Beibei, Chongqing in southwest China. Suffering from polio only eight months after birth, she lost the ability to walk.

"Tortured by the disease, I have always wanted to study medicine to cure my leg, and to live a normal life," Zhou explained the reason why she became a doctor.

However, being a doctor has never been easy for Zhou. She was refused by a lot of hospitals after graduation due to her physical condition. When she knew that some villagers needed to walk for hours to go to the hospital in town, she decided to open a clinic in Xihe village.

Zhou's husband carries her on back to visit the patient. For 20 years, Zhou and Ai have traveled the mountain area of 13 square kilometers, and visited patients for about 5,000 times.
