BEIJING, Sept. 13 -- A senior leader of the Communist Party of China has urged people to be confident about practicing socialist values on Saturday.
Liu Yunshan, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while inspecting a campaign to promote "socialist core values" in Beijing.
"Our confidence in socialist values comes from Marxist theory, the outstanding traditional culture of the Chinese nation and the successful practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics," Liu said.
The values include the national goals of prosperity, democracy, civility and harmony; the social goals of freedom, equality, justice and the rule of law; and the individual values of patriotism, dedication, integrity and friendship.
He called for fostering socialist values among the public through education in a bid to realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.
