NANJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese political advisor Wang Jiarui on Tuesday met with party leaders of European countries in Suzhou City in east China's Jiangsu Province.
The party leaders were here to attend the fourth China-Europe High-Level Political Parties Forum.
During the meeting with Maria Dolores de Cospedal, general secretary of the People's Party of Spain, Wang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, exchanged views with her on further promoting party-to-party relations between China and Spain. The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Communist Party of China and the People's Party of Spain.
While meeting Charles Michel, chairman of the Francophone Liberal Party, Wang, also head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged ideas with him on the two parties' relations as well as issues of common concern.
Wang also shared views on China and Romania ties and party-to-party relations with Andrei Dolineaschi, deputy general secretary of the Social Democratic Party of Romania, Ovidiu Silaghi, vice chairman of the National Liberal Party of Romania, Neculai Ontanu, general secretary of the National Progressive Alliance of Romania, and Laszlo Borbely, vice chairman of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania.
During the meetings, the European party leaders expressed their condolences over the earthquake that struck Sichuan Province in southwest China on Saturday and extended hope that the people in disaster areas can rebuild their homes.
