TATOPANI, Nepal, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- In what would be another milestone in bilateral trade between Nepal and China, a new chapter of Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NCCCI) has been set up in Nepal's Tatopani, the main trading gateway between the two countries, on Friday.
The Sinddhupalchwok chapter of the NCCCI inaugurated by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan was described by him as a "vibrant bridge" for boosting bilateral trade.
"The establishment of this chapter of NCCCI is another milestone for Nepal-China trade and I hope this chapter will act as a vibrant bridge for bilateral trade," ambassador Yang said at the inauguration ceremony.
Reiterating that Nepal is an important neighbor for China, he said China will continue to support Nepal in every possible means.
China has been providing 95 percent duty free facility to Nepal in which 7787 commodities are allowed to export from China free of custom duty, Houlan illustrated.
Meanwhile, Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, Chairman of the NCCCI, said that the Sindhupalchwok office has been established with an aim to enhance the existing trade between the two countries by addressing the infrastructural and technical hurdles.
The NCCCI is a non-profit NGO founded in 1999 with a view to maintaining the intimate relationship between Nepali and Chinese business communities. The organization has already had two offices in Pokhara in western Nepal and in Biratnagar in eastern Nepal.
