Three subway lines were the most frequent target of pickpockets in Beijing, the Beijing Times reported, citing a work report issued by the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau on Tuesday.
The report showed the overall situation of the capital's social security in the first half of the year, indicating that 4,007, or 55 percent of total pickpocket cases, occurred on buses and subways, especially on rapid bus No 1, bus No 715 and Yuntong 114, subway lines 1, 2 and 10.
The report said the cases occurred mostly during rush hour, 7-9 am and 5-7 pm.
Statistics about the social security situation will be released twice a year, said Fu Zhenghua, head of the bureau.
