BEIJING, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Hot weather will hit many regions of south China as the National Meteorological Center (NMC) continued with its blue alert for high temperatures on Wednesday.
The weather observatory said temperatures around 35 degrees Celsius will hit regions south of the Yangtze River, areas along the Yangtze and Huaihe rivers and parts of north China.
Some parts of Hebei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, as well as Chongqing Municipality will see temperatures as high 38 degrees Celsius.
Parts of the country will have wet weather.
The NMC warned that heavy rain will sweep parts of northeast and northwest China, areas along the Yellow and Huaihe rivers, as well as the Sichuan Basin in the country's southwest over the next three days. Some areas will see rainfall of between 100 and 160 mm, accompanied by thunderstorms, gales and hail.
China has a four-color-coded warning system for severe weather, with red being the most serious, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
