According to China’s National Meteorological Center, heavy rain has begun to blanket many parts of China.
Rainstorms in central China’s Hunan Province have caused a landslide, killing three people. About 220-thousand people in East China’s Anhui Province have also been hit by rainstorms. Meanwhile, in East China's Jiangxi Province, local authorities have issued a flood alert. In the province’s worst-hit area, over 4, 000 people have been relocated.
The central weather watchdog in Beijing issued thunder and rainstorm alerts on Friday. Heavy rain and wind brought flooding to some downtown areas, making it difficult to travel during China’s national college entrance exam.
On Saturday, rain is expected to continue in the eastern part of the country, while the northwest and southwest regions will see a new round of rainfall and thunderstorms.
