Victims in quake-hit Baoxing county expressed concern over the distribution of disaster relief supplies, saying they are still waiting for the local government to distribute aid.
An official from the Baoxing Political and Legislative Affairs Committee told the Global Times on April 23 that village and town officials are ordered to go door to door to assess the damage to every household.
"Volunteers throughout Sichuan Province have already donated over 4 million yuan ($647,355) in relief aid and supplies to earthquake victims in Baoxing, which the local government will distribute as soon as officials survey the damage to ensure aid gets to the hardest hit areas," said the official.
