SHANGHAI, April 11 (Xinhua) -- A knife-wielding bank robbery suspect was caught by police 13 hours after he fled the crime scene Wednesday, said Shanghai police early Thursday morning.
The suspect wearing a face mask threatened bank clerks to take out cash at an outlet of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in Pudong District, and ran out of the bank at around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
He was forced to throw the cash bag away after being chased by a large crowd of people including the bank's security guards and passers-by, and took a taxi to run away.
Police made a night raid of the suspect's residency, where the 23-year-old man surnamed Wan was caught.
