A 24-year-old man took HIV tests repeatedly out of fears that he contracted the virus after a one-night stand, a newspaper in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, reported today.
The man surnamed Song slept with a woman last October without taking any protective measure and was haunted by the fear that he might have contracted the HIV, the Wuhan Evening News reported.
Song took a test in late October in Wuhan Central Hospital. The result showed negative. But he was unconvinced and took eight more tests in the hospital.
In November he bought a testing paper from a drug store and was overwhelmed to find the result showed positive.
Doctors told him to trust the hospital rather than the so-called testing paper. But they have a hunch that he would come again soon, the newspaper said.
