Bolivian president meets with Wang Guanzhong

BEIJING, May 13, (ChinaMil) -- Evo Morales, president of Bolivia, met with Wang Guanzhong, the visiting deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), and his party on May 11, 2013 in La Paz.

Morales said that the achievements China has made in its construction and development are admirable and hoped that Bolivia and China will constantly deepen pragmatic and friendly cooperation in various fields. He welcomed Chinese enterprises' more involvement in Bolivia's economic and social construction, especially the infrastructure construction, and hoped to further promote the mutual trust and friendship between the two countries and the two militaries.

Wang Guanzhong said that China-Bolivia relations have been developing smoothly since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 28 years ago, as evidenced by high-level contacts maintained, constantly deepened mutual political trust and steady progress in economic and trade cooperation. He pointed out that as an important component of the relations between the two countries, the relations between the Chinese and Bolivian militaries have also made greater progress and believed that the friendly and cooperative defense and military relations between the two countries will be promoted to a new high with the efforts of both sides.
