BEIJING, May 9, (ChinaMil) -- A half-month-long assembly training for the principal officers at five levels in troop units of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAAF) began on May 3, 2013 in a PLAAF regiment. A total of 89 principal officers at five levels, namely corps, division, brigade (regiment), battalion and company, from a base formed an assembly training company. A total of 119 intermediate and high-level officers from the air forces under various military area commands of the PLA formed an observing company.

"It is important to cultivate the high-quality officers first in order to build a powerful army. Those who do not really experience the life of soldiers cannot truly understand the situation of grassroots troop units," said Wang Xiangfu, deputy political commissar of the PLAAF who are accompanying with the training in the whole process for guidance according to the plan. The reason for choosing combat troop unit to carry out the training this time, instead of colleges and academies or training institutions in the past, is to allow the principal officers to experience the taste of soldiers, the feeling of squads and the environment of companies.
