BEIJING, May 8, (ChinaMil) -- The artillery new-type reconnaissance and fire-directing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operator backbone concentration training of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) started in a troop unit under the Lanzhou Military Area Command (MAC) of the PLA on May 3. More than 340 backbone operators from PLA artillery troops participated in the month-long training.

According to the leader of the Training Department of the General Staff Headquarters (GSH) of the PLA, the reconnaissance and fire-directing UAV is the most advanced information-based reconnaissance equipment of the PLA artillery troop units. With the special features of wide-range reconnaissance, high precision and fast response, it has become an important power of operational and tactical in-depth reconnaissance.
