The Latin America Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (LAADE) of 2013, also named the Brazilian Defense Exhibition, unveiled on April 9, 2013 in Rio de Janeiro of Brazil. The security experience, concepts and technologies for major sports events are the highlights of the Chinese exhibitors participating in the LAADE 2013.
The LAADE is the largest and most influential defense and security trade exhibition in Latin America. In light of the fact that Brazil will successively hold major sports events including the World Cup and the Olympic Games in the next several years, it is imperative for Brazil to upgrade its security levels. Therefore, the Chinese military trading enterprises participating in the LAADE 2013 focus on launching the distinguished and targeted defense products and technologies.
The China Electronics Import and Export Corporation, which participates in the LAADE for the first time as an exhibitor, showcases its products and technologies including radar system, multi-level command and control system as well as communication system.
The Chinese exhibitor delegation, with the exhibiting area of nearly 500 square meters, focuses on promoting the security experience, concepts and technologies of the Beijing Olympic Games. In addition, various Chinese enterprises also showcase their advanced military products including multiple-barrel rocket launcher, anti-landmine vehicle and missile frigate, according to the news release.
Sergio Jardin, the person in charge of the LAADE 2013 organizer, said that the Chinese enterprises participating in the LAADE 2013 have set records in the number of participating enterprises from a single country and the total exhibiting areas, showcasing China's research, development and manufacturing capabilities in military industry field.
The LAADE is held once every two years by the Ministry of Defense of Brazil, which aims at meeting the requirements of its three services, namely the army, the navy and the air force, as well as its special troops and government organizations for various weapons and equipment as well as security services. A total of nearly 700 enterprises from various countries including some famous ones will exhibit their products at the LAADE 2013. A total of nearly 130 delegations from 55 countries and regions will visit the LAADE 2013. It is estimated that the number of visitors will reach 30,000 persons/times.
