At the invitation of the Chinese Cultural Foundation of the United States, a major event, "Exhibition of Contemporary Chinese Paintings - Ink Wash Paintings of the Chinese Dream" (hereinafter referred to as the Exhibition), jointly staged by Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Co., Ltd. (BICCI), and the China Artists Association, will be held at the National Arts Club in New York from October 28 through November 3, 2013.

Not only has the Exhibition been one of his long-cherished wishes for many years, but it embodies the Chinese Dream of a Chinese painter, according to Ma Xinle, one of the planners of the event. Ma is Artistic Director of BICCI and a collector who has gained fame as a Chinese painter building an artistic career in the United States.

Paintings by Li Yang, a professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Deputy Dean of the School of Chinese Painting in this university, will be on display at the Exhibition. In an exclusive interview conducted by People's Daily Online, Li says that Chinese painting is the art best suited to serve as a symbol of Chinese culture. As Chinese paintings spread around the world, it is of great importance to ensure that overseas peoples have a good understanding of Chinese culture through Chinese paintings and works of calligraphy.
