(Ecns) – Mo Yan watched the Qingdao Song & Dance Theatre put on its second performance of Red Sorghum, adopted from the Nobel Prize winner's famous work, in Shandong province on Sunday night.
Mo's appearance surprised the audience and won their applause. After the 100-minute show, Mo met the actors and gave interviews.
"I cannot make accurate comments now, for I just watched once, but the dance drama really excited me," Mo said in the interview.
Qingdao Song & Dance Theatre bought the rights to the dance drama adaptation in 2011, and 10 shows, which feature Jiaozhou Yangko and Shandong folk music, will be performed in Qingdao.
Huang Gang, from Qingdao Song & Dance Theatre, said they hope to get opinions and suggestions to improve the show before China's 10th Art Festival in October.
