Beijing, May 9 (People's Daily Online) -- An Ambassador's Forum as well as the opening ceremony of 2013 BFSU Festival of E.U. Language and Culture was held at the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) on the afternoon of May 9, 2013.
BFSU President Han Zheng delivered a speech at the forum in which he emphasized the necessity of cultural exchanges between China and the E.U.
Han hopes that the BFSU Festival of E.U. Language and Culture should be lasted and will open new avenues for the development of China-E.U. relations.
Declan Kelleher, ambassador of Ireland to China attended the forum and reviewed China- E.U. partnership in his speech with the theme “Trends in E.U. -China Relations”.
Patrick Nijs, Belgium's honorary ambassador to China, talked about the current situation and the future of the E.U. in the context of the E.U. debt crisis.
The two ambassadors' speeches were warmly welcomed by students at BFSU. The students exchanged their ideas with them in English, French and Irish.(Ye Xin)
