JAKARTA, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's top men's singles player, Christopher Rungkat, failed to continue his steps in Australian Open after being defeated by Canadian Peter Polansky, local media reported here on Wednesday.
Rungkat, the only Indonesian player in Australian Open, was defeated with a score of 6-3, 6-2 in first round.
Polansky will next meet Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer, who beat Kazakhstan's Evgeny Korolev 7-5, 6-2.
