China United Property Insurance Co Ltd, the country's second-largest non-life insurer in terms of capital, reported a 25.8 percent increase in income in the first four months this year, the company said.
The insurer realized premium income of 10.68 billion yuan ($1.7 billion) during January-April, with year-on-year growth rate 8.1 percentage points higher than the industry's average.
As a non-life insurer specializing in agriculture, its premium income from agriculture insurance hit 1.95 billion yuan in the first four months, up 143 percent over the same period last year.
Its market share in the sector stood at 26.3 percent, up 9.2 percentage points year-on-year, making it the second-largest agriculture insurance underwriter.
