BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhuanet) -- A flight attendant on board Flight 214 has spoken to reporters of the emergency evacuation of passengers after the crash landing.
Flight attendant, Lee Yoon-hye, was the last person to leave the burning plane. She’s been called a heroine by the media for her role in helping passengers leave the aircraft safely.
"There was a crash. It’s not the kind of landing we usually do. It was massive. Afterwards, the aircraft rocked from side to side. Then came the realisation we’d been in a serious accident. My mind became very clear and I knew what to do immediately. Actually, I was not thinking, i was just acting automatically. As soon as I heard ’emergency escape’, I organised the evacuation. When i saw the fire, all my thoughts were on extinguishing it. Not for a minute did i think it’s too dangerous or ’what am I going to do?’" said Lee.
