SOFIA, May 24 (Xinhua) -- An airplane skidded off the runway at Varna airport in Bulgaria on Friday, injuring two people.
The incident happened at 10:19 a.m. local time (GMT 0719). The plane, with 172 people on board, was a flight of Air Via from Leipzig to Varna.
All passengers have been evacuated from the aircraft. Two women, one Bulgarian and one German, had their legs injured when they got out of the plane.
They had been sent to hospital in Varna, according to the Bulgarian news agency. The German passenger wanted to have treatment in Germany while the Bulgarian was waiting for an operation.
The airport was closed right now and all the flights were redirected to the nearby airport in Burgas.
