GUANGZHOU, May 31(Xinhua) -- Chinese scientists said they have finished building the country's first benthal observation system in south China's Hainan Province.
The system is located in waters near the city of Sanya and is part of efforts to build a large-scale benthal observation network, according to a source from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
The system was jointly designed by the CAS South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, the Shenyang Institute of Automation and the Institute of Acoustics.
