BOGOTA, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Three army soldiers were killed and two others were wounded in an attack allegedly carried out by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), authorities said Thursday.
The attack by the guerrilla group with a grenade occurred in a rural area of Puerto Concordia in Meta, where the government soldiers were conducting surveillance operations, the Colombian army said.
The dead soldiers were identified as Harold Rairan, Walter Alirio Martinez and Jeisson Andres Parra.
"The exploded grenade was found in the operations area by members of Brigade 22nd military unit, that was in this area," an army report said.
The two injured soldiers were taken to a medical center in Villavicencio, Meta's capital city.
