Xixiang Cherry
Xixiang cherries are reputed for their big size, thick flesh, thin skin and bright color. Looking like glittering and translucent agate, they are tempting and taste juicy and sweet.


Shaanxi Apple
Apples produced to the north of the Weihe River top all the apples in Shaanxi, where the climate and soil are excellent for the growth of apples. Shaanxi apples are renowned both at home and abroad for its high sugar content, bright color, rich vitamins and crisp taste.


Chenggu Tangerine
Since ancient times Chenggu County of Hanzhong city have always been a place for “royal tribute tangerines.” It is reputed as “home of tangerines” for their sour-sweet refreshing taste and long shelf life. It is even more well-known far and near as “heavenly honey tangerines.”

Lintong Pomegranate
It has been 2000 years since Zhang Qian in the Western Han Dynasty went to the Western Regions as an envoy and brought back pomegranates from Parthia (today’s Iran). Lintong pomegranate rank first among the five famous categories of pomegranates in China for its bright color, thin skin, juicy seeds and few pomace.


Walnut
Shaanxi is where walnuts are most productive and with the most varieties. It has long since been renowned as “home of walnuts”. Traditional Chinese medicine holds that walnuts are mild in nature and sweet in taste and offer benefits to the stomach and lung, enrich the blood, and promote energetic Qi.

Braised Beef or Mutton
A most representative Muslim flavor in Xi’an, braised beef or mutton still preserves the most nutrition after being specially cured and then boiled. It is renowned far and near for its tender texture, rosy flesh, delicate flavor and savory taste. A unique local product in Xi’an, it is a rare delicacy for families, relatives and friends.


Dates from Northern Shaanxi
Mainly growing in Yichuan, Yanchuan and Qingjian counties along the Yellow River, dates from northern Shaanxi are big, sweet and oily with small pips, thick flesh, and thin skin. It is world famous for its rich content of proteins, vitamins and minerals.


Xifeng Liquor
Dated from the Shang Dynasty and popular in the Tang and Song Dynasties, Xifeng liquor has enjoyed a long history of 2600 years, the choice liquor being brewed in Fengxiang County. One of the eight famous liquors in China, it enjoys the reputation of containing all five tastes—sour, sweet, bitter, spicy and aromatic, with none of the tastes being strong.


Chinese Kiwifruit
Qinling Mountain regions in Shaanxi are an important growing area for Chinese Kiwifruit, a rare fruit that boasts rich nutrition, soft and juicy flesh, and a unique flavor and is regarded as “king of vitamin C.”

Huanggui Glutinous Rice Wine
Unlike alcohol, glutinous rice wine tastes better and is thick and juicy with 15% alcohol. A medicinal herb called Huanggui (cinnamon) was later added in the wine so that it tastes cinnamon, hence the name. A traditional fine wine, Huanggui Glutinous Rice Wine is one of the eight precious specialties in Shaanxi. Legend has it that it was the very wine that the “drunken concubine” (concubine of the seventh emperor of the Tang Dynasty) had drunk, hence the other name “concubine’s wine.”
