Wang Guanzhong meets Korean Guests

BEIJING, July 30 (ChinaMil) -- Wang Guanzhong, deputy chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), met with Gwon Hyuk Sun, the visiting commander of the third military area command of the Republic of Korea (ROK), and his party on the afternoon of July 30, 2013 in Beijing.

Wang Guanzhong said that China and the ROK are neighbors with cultural affinity, similar custom and integrated economy, and the development of the bilateral relations has a broad and solid foundation. The two sides are supposed to properly implement the consensus reached by the heads of the two countries, further develop the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership and constantly deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to jointly maintain regional peace, stability and prosperity.

The Chinese side holds a positive attitude towards further developing exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and the ROK militaries, and is committed to pushing forward pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries and constantly deepening mutual trust, so as to promote healthy and stable development of the relations between the two countries.

Wang Guanzhong also expounded the principled stand of the Chinese side on issue of Korean Peninsula.

Gwon Hyuk Sun said that the ROK and China are close neighbors with similar culture, and the bilateral relations in various fields including economy, politics and military have maintained a good momentum of development. He hoped to further promote exchanges and enhance mutual trust between the two militaries, so as to push forward constant development of the relations between the two militaries.
