| A 51-kilometer undersea cable is started to be laid in Zhoushan sea area on Feb 21, 2014. It marks the Zhoushan project has entered a crucial stage (Xinhua/Xu Yu) |
The Zhoushan project is the first five-terminal VSC-HVDC transmission project in the world and the total transmission distance is 141 kilometers. It is invested by State Grid Company of Zhejiang province for the DC power connection between the mainland and the Zhoushan islands. The whole project is expected to complete and go into production in June.
