The ultimate potential of precision gene-editing techniques is beginning to be realized. After nearly a year of efforts, Chinese scientists have successfully engineered first monkeys with targeted mutations in Kunming, southwest China’s Yunnan province. It is a milestone for targeted gene-editing technology that promises more realistic research models of human diseases.
