2: Pop diva Faye Wong divorces Li Yapeng

Pop diva Faye Wong, 44, and actor Li Yapeng, 42, publicly split up on social media network Weibo in September. Wong wrote on her micro blog, "Our relationship as a couple ends here. I'm all right. Take care of yourself."

Li confirmed the split on his own page, writing, "I need a family, but you are destined to be a legend. I miss all the best times of the past decade. I still love you as I have always done, and I regret that letting you go is the only thing I can do now."

Li mentioned that their daughter, Li Yan, will live with him. The couple married in 2005.

The divorce caused a true media frenzy after hundreds of reporters waited at the airport to get photos of Wong and Li upon their return to the nation’s capital city from remote Xinjiang. One fabricated story after another heated up the rumor mill, e.g. Wong would enter a monastery after the divorce, and speculation as to the reason for their divorce ran wild. Loyal fans remained in disbelief for a long time.
