Xiling Snow Mountain Ski Resort: Chengdu, Sichuan

Recommended reason: China's best alpine ski resort

Located at the Xiling Snow Mountain, 120 kilometers away from Chengdu in southwest China's Sichuan Province, it is considered as China's largest and most successful ski resort, and commonly referred to as 'The Oriental Alps'.

Travel tips:

Entrance fee: 80 yuan/person for skiing, and 100 yuan/person/two hours for snowboarding.

Transportation: Travelers can take bus in Chengdu to go to the resort.
Accommodation: There are a number of hotels on the peak for those who want to see the clouds, sunrise, or forest scenery. Farmhouses are also available in the resort.

Food: Local foods include Xiling pork stew, Spicy fermented bean curd, Rainbow trout, and edible wild herbs.
